Parasitic, I can feel you crawling under
Parasitic, I can feel you digging, crawling under my skin
I am the one that feeds on your success
The parasite always consuming in excess
Leaving you numb, tired and empty
So you can sit and reflect
Until there's no one left
Until there's no one left
We're not so different, you and I
We're not so different
You and I are just primitively driven by what makes us human
Primitively driven by what makes us human now
So let's roll back the tape and hit replay
Spoon-fed the same old bullshit, isn't it cliche
Sell your opinion to find acceptance
Surrendering into a hive mind
Until there's no one left, until there's no one
No one left
Parasitic, I can feel you crawling under
Parasitic, I can feel you under my skin
Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego
Cult leader has been an underrated great band. Heavy, intelligent. I saw them a couple times including this past year. Would hope they tour in 2024. Son Nguyen
