When I heard the news, I fell to the floor
My cries were heard behind close doors
My pain was real, yeah I felt it then
When I had lost my dearest friend
Why are you gone?
When I saw the tears in your mother's eyes
I knew then that I had to say goodbye
Your friends were there right by your side
And you are still, still in my mind
Why are you gone?
What's there to say about you my dearest friend
Who passed away, you were there for me right
Right from the start, and now we are two worlds apart

Quite possibly the most full-on album I've ever listened to. Intense, and then some. 'Digital Tarpit' could describe both the track and the whole album: high-pitched guitar squeals that make your fillings itch coupled with merciless, suffocating heaviness. The Avenell-esque vocals top it off perfectly.
Brilliant - punishing, but brilliant. jim_fuego

Primarily reviewing for their cover of Matt Kozelek/Desertshore's "You Are Not My Blood", because that's just how great that song is. Gutter Gods and the title track to start offer a good juxtaposition to the slow, clean sludge of the final track. I was fond of their additions of these qualities to the latest record, and would love to hear them explore the contrast of the two fighting spirits- slow sludge rock, and pummeling hardcore- more. autodidact904
